Trois-Îlets, Martinique

Trois Îlets waterfront

Fish-scale tiles on roofs

Colorful buildings

We tried a new anchorage in Martinique—Trois-Îlets (Three Islands). Tucked behind a peninsula, the anchorage is well protected from all sides. The village is pretty, especially the waterfront. The buildings are known for their fish-scale tiles, which are manufactured at a pottery nearby. Empress Josephine (Napoleon’s wife) was born and raised nearby.
