Snorkeling Tobago

I already mentioned that the Guyana Current makes the waters around Tobago especially productive. Though the waters were generally clear with good visibility, occasionally it was like swimming in a soup of plankton and ctenophores and other jellies (but no stingers!). This was more gratifying than annoying, since a rich ecosystem is always a delight. Besides, it meant that there were masses of fish and corals and other sea life, which is, after all, what we snorkel to see. Here are some pictures of the highlights of our snorkeling on the reefs along the northern coast of Tobago.

  1. looks like you got to see some great fish life there - what a fabulous place that is! We are definitely not snorkeling here - much colder weather, but the water is very clear!
