Dinghy anchor and chain set in beautiful, ripply white sand |
|
What are you doing, little stick? |
So, we were snorkeling off of Soldier Cay in the Bahamas,
on the Exuma Sound (east) side, which we can’t do often since the prevailing
easterly winds usually make it choppy and uncomfortable. The topography was
interesting, lumps of stone interspersed over sand. Some areas, however, were
just vast areas of beautiful white sand, like you see here with our dinghy
anchor. Swimming back to the dinghy, I saw this little stick in the sand. This
is usually a high-energy area with lots of waves and surge, so it probably wasn’t
just stuck there, even though it was in water about fifteen feet deep. Just odd…
